Goldsboro native Caleb Sasser bid farewell to his journey on "The Voice," delivering a captivating performance during the "Knockouts" rounds on Monday night. Opting for Nick Jonas' "Jealous" to showcase his higher vocal register, Sasser's rendition marked a memorable moment on the stage. Despite not securing a win in the Knockout round and receiving no "steal or save" opportunities, Sasser graciously accepted the outcome. Catch his exclusive interview on ATL OnFiya scheduled for Monday, November 13, at 9 am PST.
Reflecting on his audition success in October, where all four coaches turned their chairs for his rendition of Toni Braxton's "Another Sad Love Song," Sasser expressed his excitement and gratitude. Choosing to align himself with John Legend's team, Sasser shared, "What excites me most about working with John is that I have been listening to his music for years. I have been studying his sound and how he writes. I'm hoping that whenever we get together, he'll be able to teach me some storytelling and how to further my writing and my artistry."
Raised in a musical household where singing with family in the church choir was a tradition, Sasser pursued his passion for music at UNC Pembroke. His journey led him to Los Angeles in 2021, where he quickly found himself performing alongside notable artists like Kanye West and Alicia Keys. Beyond his musical pursuits, Sasser now imparts his knowledge, teaching voice and piano to middle schoolers.
Despite feeling like a fish out of water in Los Angeles, Sasser maintains his southern roots through his love for cooking, a skill he frequently showcases by preparing diverse dishes for his girlfriend, Deandrea. Join us on ATL OnFiya for an in-depth conversation with Caleb Sasser as he shares insights into his music, experiences on "The Voice," and his journey in Los Angeles.
